The Instructor in Training course at Austin Kade Academy offers a path for those eager to bridge their love for cosmetology with the art of teaching. Upon enrollment, our Instructor in Training students shadow our experienced instructors, gaining invaluable insights and practical experience.
During your time as an instructor in training, you’ll be given the opportunity to shadow experienced instructors, gaining hands-on experiences and honing in your teaching skills. We feel that the best way to learn is by doing.
Throughout the program, students prepare for chapter tests, as well as practical and written final exams, to help ensure they are fully prepared for their future role as beauty educators. Instructor in Training Program FAQs
Our Instructor in Training program is for beauty pros who’ve got their license and want to teach the next generation. If you’re licensed in cosmetology, esthetics, barber styling, or nail tech and want to become a teacher, you’re in the right place. You’ll just need to have a valid license in the field you’re looking to teach. Plus, check on any additional state requirements that might apply depending on your experience.
You’ll learn the ins and outs of becoming a great instructor – think lesson planning, classroom management, supervising students, testing, teaching techniques and all that good stuff. On top of that, you’ll get to shadow some experienced instructors so you can see what it’s all about and gain some valuable hands-on experience.
No way – the program is designed to take your existing experience and teach you how to become a great instructor. We’ll provide the mentorship, classroom time and hands-on learning you need to get started.
Once you’ve completed the program, you can look at careers like cosmetology instructor, esthetics instructor, barber instructor, nail tech instructor, education director or trainer for a salon, spa or beauty brand. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to get licensed by the state first.
Our curriculum is designed to get you ready for both the written and practical exams needed to become a licensed instructor in Idaho. While passing the state exam can’t be guaranteed, we’ll give you all the education and experience you need to prepare.
